Dear Yuletide Writer,

Firstly thank you for taking on my fic, I know I'll love whatever you write for me.

General fic likes/dislikes

I like a fairly wide range of fics, though I particularly enjoy a bit of world building, outside POV, coming out story or found family.
I absolutely cannot stand excess embarrassment for characters (American sitcom style 'ha ha look how embarrassed he is' style humour). It's my biggest squick and I seriously cannot read it.
I like both slash and het, as well as poly. I prefer closed poly relationships, but mostly I just don't like deception with my poly.
I prefer happy endings or at least hopeful ones.
I much prefer first time to established romance.
I prefer not to have sex be the major focus. I don't at all mind some porn but I much prefer the development of the relationship that goes with it.
I don't like any significant kink in my Yuletide fics.
I don't like alternate setting AU's.
No underage pairings - I have no underaged requested characters but absolutely no explicit sex for a minor.

1. Sea Patrol - Characters: Kate "XO" McGregor, Chris "Swain" Blake, Dylan "Dutchy" Mulholland, Pete "Buffer" Tomaszewski

I love the friendship between all of the Hammersley's crew. I don't much like the relationship between Kate and Mike, it feels quite one sided and like he's stringing her along. I honestly quite dislike Mike as viewed through the lens of he and Kate though I can respect him as a leader and captain - he's just a shitty not-boyfriend who gets jealous every time she tries to move on.

I would love to see a fic pairing Kate with one (or more) of Swain, Dutchy or Buffer - keeping in mind regulations and how she would work around that. I like it when characters show respect for her strength while also acknowledging her as a woman. I also prefer that any relationship acknowledges the Navy regulations and works around/solves that rather than ignoring it.

A slashy fic between any of the three men would also be interesting if you want to try something unusual.

If you can't do that, I would love a friendship/team fic on some kind of mission/adventure.

In all of them I welcome pretty much all the canon characters in ensemble.

I am happy for you to leave out Dutchy or Buffer depending on which season the fic is set in.

Also, the season 5 finale makes me sad, please don't kill Swain.

Ideas:

What would happen if Mike was forced to deal with his abuse of power of sleeping with his student? How would that affect Kate?

What would happen if Swain left after S5 because Sally died unexpectedly?

What if Kate did marry Mike only to realise that she was chasing an illusion and is now desperately unhappy?

2. The Holiday - Characters: Iris Simpkins, Miles Dumont

I have loved this movie since the first time I saw it. It manages to be both incredibly funny and soft at the same time. I adore Miles's kindness and openness and his willingness to be so completely in love with Iris. I love Iris's journey to taking control of her life and not allowing herself to be misused.

I would love to see the two of them continuing their love story. The further stories of New Year, the decisions about what continent to live on, Miles asking Iris to marry him, etc. Whatever you choose, I just want the same kind of love and kindness we see throughout the film.

Any of the other characters are most welcome and I am happy to also see their stories.

3. Rescue: Special Ops - Characters: Dean Gallagher, Chase Gallagher, Michelle Letourneau, Lachie Gallagher

I would love to see something Dean focused. He can do dumb stuff at times and in the first season is a real manwhore but especially towards the later seasons he really shows how much he craves a family and stability.

Whether you would like to pair him with a minor character, an OC, or a crossover (check my fic writing to give you an idea of the fandoms I know), man or woman, I would just like to see someone husband that man up and give him a family to care about. The only pairing I am not too fond of is Dean/Lara.

Alternately, while I'm not super into the idea of them as a couple, what would have happened if Dean had been the father of Michelle's baby would be interesting.

I am happy for any combination of Chase or Michelle to be excluded or included as works for your fic.

3. Bondi Rescue - Characters: Trent "Maxi" Maxwell, Jethro "Jeff" James, Jesse "Kid" Polock, Harrison "Lionel Hutz" Reid

I really enjoy the camaraderie between these guys and the way they both joke with each other and support each other.

I have read some really enjoyable Maxi/Harrison fics and would be happy with some variation of that. I would also love something with Jesse as I think he's an interesting character - either friendship or /Maxi or /Harrison.

If that's not your vibe I would also love some chaotic mateship between them and any others you want to throw in.

I would prefer to have all 4 included but 1 or more are okay to be background characters if you are focusing on a specific pair.

Them supporting each other after dealing with something heavy like losing a swimmer or finding a suicide would be interesting.

Jesse: I like how he is trying to find his footing while also being a cocky shit. His firing and the way that did nor did not disrupt his relationships with the others is interesting to me.
Maxi: His good natured but competitive approach to the job and the friendship he formed with basically everyone. Also, the fact that he and Harrison lived together.
Harrison: The blow in from NZ who they like to pick on but who can also be a lot more serious. Also, him living with Maxi.
Jethro: The baby who gets picked on but still becomes part of the crew.

4. The Oregon Files - Characters: Juan Cabrillo, Eric Stone, Mark Murphy, MacD Lawless

I would love to see a fic where Mark and Eric stop fighting over a girl and realise that they should just date each other. Does one of them figure it out? Does the girl in question suggest a threesome and then they have to face some issues, is one of them seriously injured?

I would love to see a fic that plays with the gratitude MacD felt towards Juan when he was rescued and brought aboard the Oregon and then saved again. That could be a very interesting pairing.

If slash does not suit I would love to see adventure capers, especially if they were of the more light-hearted variety.

If you're writing a pairing fic I am happy with the other two characters being not mentioned or in a limited capacity, but if you go the more gen route, I would like to see all of them.

I am very interested in the reality of being a gay couple in a situation that isn't really conducive to coming out.

I would love a post-movie relationship and the realities and tensions of being secretive/outed/coming out. (I am also okay with this relationship having been pre-existing from before the accident and as a part of an OT3 with Maggie). I am a West Wing junkie if that gives you ideas.

If you're not up for that kind of story I'd love to see the closeness of their relationship/friendship from the beginning of the movie returning and possibly deepening even with the strains of the distrust/dislike that had existed between them in the meantime.

Extras: I don't mind kid fic and would welcome the family element of Mike's relationship with Connor. I like the banter between Mike and Ben and love their push and pull and mild antagonism. If you do go the outing route I find the media/social media's reaction to things like that very interesting. I've also seen London Has Fallen and am also great with that or elements of that being included. I haven't seen Angel Has Fallen.

4. Hackers - Characters: Ramon "The Phantom Phreak" Sanchez, Dade "Zero Cool | Crash Override" Murphy, Dade "Zero Cool | Crash Override" Murphy, Joey Pardella

This movie needs good fic. This is one where you can have free range, write Kate/Dade post movie fic, Joey getting a boy/girlfriend, background on any of the characters, seriously I will take anything (though slash is always appreciated).

2. Shetland - Characters: Duncan Hunter, Jimmy Perez

Please write Pre-season 6 as I am not sure when I'll get access to it.

I love the dynamic of their co-parenting roles. I also love the way the islands are a character in their own right and how they add to the mood of the show.

I would really like to see a Post Season 5 fic, based after Jimmy asks Duncan to stay. I'd love to see how a relationship builds with them and then how others around them react.

If you can't do that I'd appreciate anything exploring the way they have co-parented in the past, present and future.

I prefer closed poly relationships which only contain those within the OT3/4 but they don't need to be in the same kinds of relationships (a mix of romantic/platonic as fits everyone's needs), but mostly I don't like deception with my poly.
I prefer happy endings or at least hopeful ones.
I prefer not to have sex be the major focus. I don't at all mind some porn (Except in Julie and the Phantoms. Thinking about them in a serious sexual way squicks me) but I much prefer the development of the relationship that goes with it.

1. Julie and the Phantoms

DNW: Explicit Sexual Content for this fandom (For me that means nothing more than PGish - kissing, hugging, lying together, etc. No one should be sticking their hands down anyone's pants.)

I would love to see one of two things depending on your level of okay with OT3/4.

1. Reggie/Luke/Alex(/Julie if you like, so long as it's respectful of Alex's sexuality (platonic relationship between Julie and Alex within an OT4 is totally okay with me) and there's no deception) Falling in love, falling into what it means to be poly, figuring out relationships (in 1995 and now). I don't much care about the show's Caleb plot and am totally happy with just soft, fluffy love. Carlos, Ray and Flynn are also excellent and are welcome.

2. Found family. The boys finding a new normal and a new family.

Basically, give me lovely fluffy happiness from the wonderful himbos we love. (Reggie is my favourite, do with that as you will.)

Things I love in this fandom: How dumb and unaware Luke can be and his little 'ah ha!' face when he figures something out, how very amused by the 'chemistry' scene Alex was and how he has just a few more brain cells than the others, Reggie's utter desire for a family (oh baby, you hurt my heart a little) and his stupid confused face, every face Luke makes at Julie, them being confused by modern lingo and technology, the fact that Julie hugging them makes them glow and saves them.

About Willy. I am not super attached to him, so if you want to leave him out to make it easier if you go the OT3/4 route that will not bother me, but it also wouldn't bother me if you left him in. He is very welcome into the found family if that is the fic route you chose to follow.

2. 9-1-1 Lone Star

I would add everyone in this fandom if I could because I love all their stupid faces.

I love found family. I love the big brother relationship Judd has grown into. I love the way Grace is there to smack him around the head if he does something stupid. I love the way TK is trying to be better and how much Carlos obviously loves him.

I would love anything that plays with the connections they are building and how that anchors them all to Texas and each other. The rest of the firehouse is also very welcome, as is 'episode-fic' where they have to come together to solve problems that mirror their own.

I love Carlos/TK and am happy to have that as a big part of any fic but I am more interested in their connections to the others, whether they be supportive or just teasing siblings.

Crossover to the original 911 is also welcome if you have ideas in that direction but I would be just as stoked if you didn't.

Things I like about this fandom: I love the deliberate 'fuck you' of their character choice and location. I love everything about the growth we get to see in the character of Judd and also the way they still allow him chances to be smarter/better/more astute than the others even as he is growing and learning. I love TK's somewhat fraught relationship with his dad even as I want to smack Owen and his self-absorbed ego over the head a lot. I love the relationship between Judd and Grace and how much the embodiment of her name she is.

9-1-1 original: I am open to crossovers if that's a thing you'd be into. I'm very into Buck/Eddie if that's a route you take.

It's not a DNW but I tend to prefer fluffy fics and any major relapse stuff for TK wouldn't really be my jam.

I love first time, slice of life and found family. I have to have a happy ending.

I can't handle people being awkwardly uncomfortable or making idiots of themselves.

I'm loving the baby Leafs at the moment but I also have a long-standing love of Sid/Geno and Jamie/Tyler.

I'm not really up with any of the other young players except the Leafs and McJesus and the Stromes so I'd prefer them not to be a focus. Some are also young enough to still be underage and that is a massive no for me.

I prefer not to have serious BDSM/Kink/Non-con elements in my fic, a little sprinkling is fine but I'd prefer it not be be a focus.

1. Old Kingdom
Nick, Sameth, Lirael

I would love Nicholas's adventures in the Old Kingdom after the events of Abhorsen or Across the Wall if you've read it. If you want to make it a pairing with Lirael, awesome. If you want to slash him with someone, awesome. If he's just cruising around checking the place out and figuring things out, awesome.

Basically, I want Nicholas being awesome and discovering the Old Kingdom. World-building welcome.

2. The Martian
Beck, Watney
I love Watney and his oddness. I love travelling back to Earth fics. I love the friendship amongst the crew fics. I love shippy Mark/Chris fics. I love outside POV media/public reaction fics. I would love any story which included some or all of these elements.

3. Dogma
Bartleby, Loki, Bethany

I would love one of two stories:

1. Something with Loki and Bartleby being reborn as humans and having to live in the world (slash appreciated)

2. Something with Bethany raising her baby (I know Metatron isn't in the tag set but he is also totally welcome here).
