A.N. Depressed angsty romance. Unrequited Tate and a Tabby.
All she could ever feel for him was indifference, the slightly pesky little brother affection.
Why was she so hurt then?
Her heart had told her that his flirting, the looks, the joking admissions of love were real, that he was hiding behind his jokes, hiding from the dammed Rule #12.
Her head told her that he was doing no such thing and even if he were, he would hurt her like all the others.
She should have listened to her head.
She could still see their stunned looks, his look of bewildered dismay when he opened his eyes to find her standing in the doorway.
The look on his face as he tapped her on the shoulder. The expression on her features as she looked up to see her silhouetted in the doorway. The popping noise as she released his now flaccid penis from her black painted lips.
She shook her head to clear it of the taunting images.
He wasn’t hers.
He never was.
He will be.
This had become her mantra.
She told herself she was happy.
Happy to not be burdened with the task of keeping that man.
Happy for the happy couple.
She was lying to herself, she knew it, but it made it so much easier.
She hated knowing, she had been so blissful in her ignorance.
He didn’t love her.
He never had.
And he never would.
